Standing for Election 2022
Tim Ashman:
Dad, Designer & DVS member
I moved across to Sheffield in 1999 to study engineering & design at university and liked it that much, that I never left.
In 2015 - my wife, two boys and I were lucky enough to be able to move to Dore from our previous house in Meersbrook, and we love living here!
In 2019 I started the More in Dore community group with the primary objective of raising funds to allow the improvement of facilities at Dore Recreation Ground for the general community and secondarily to promote improving health and activity among local residents.
I became a Dore Village Society committee member and trustee in September 2019 and with the assistance of the More in Dore team, the local community and the Village Society I am confident we can succeed with our goals.
Margaret Peart:
Margaret has lived in Dore since 1981 and has been on the committee of Dore Village Society since 2019. She is owner and Principal of First Steps Nursery School at Dore Old School.
A keen walker and bird-watcher she is interested in the natural environment and the ways in which it can be both enjoyed and protected. She was active in the Sheffield Tree Campaign locally and has contributed to the official inquiry currently taking place.
Although Covid restrictions have limited the planning of meetings and events over the past two years, she hopes that these will be resumed over the coming months and is looking forward to the planting of a specimen tree by DVS later in the year to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. She is also a member of the DVS's new Green Infrastructure Team.
