Save Dore Totley and Bradway Trees: news and dates

Dear supporters

The Council have now formally invited the campaign to begin initial talks and the invitation has been accepted. The first meeting, independently chaired by, we believe, the Bishop of Sheffield, seems to be about agreeing how later discussions will be conducted. There remains a degree of scepticism from campaigners. It appears that proposals for the remaining listed trees and for the future come from Amey and the Council who have not consulted more widely with outside experts or indeed with the Campaign which now has quite a level of expertise itself! Given the lack of consultation in constructing the plan, this is clearly a cause for concern. But the pause continues and we are so much further forward from where we were in early March. This is due to all of you and the wider Campaign! We don't know of course what the proposals will be so pressure is still of the utmost importance.

Road resurfacing. There's a lot of local dissatisfaction with the quality of the road resurfacing in Totley. It's front page news in the Totley Independent. We seem to be getting a much lower quality on some roads with only a surface skim of tarmac. Also, dates are not adhered to and in the meantime people are struggling to find parking spaces elsewhere. You can complain via streetsahead@sheffield.gov.uk

Drought. Please continue to water the new saplings if you can.

Fundraising for court costs There are still HUGE punitive court costs for tree campaigners to find. There is a Crowdfunder for this at:

but also many campaigners are finding creative ways to raise money. Could you? Some of these from the Nether Edge group are at present:
