Coronation Day - Watching it on TV

In 1953 we did not own a television set, but Joyce Coggins' parents invited us to view it at their home in Nether Edge.

Our baby Timothy was a year old and, as I was transfixed, as only a rabid monarchist can be, my husband took him home, fed him and put him to bed for his nap, leaving me to enjoy what was truly a magical day.

I was eternally grateful
